The vision for S.O.U.LMAG was birthed nearly a decade ago as we started publishing a magazine for the Flavor Fest Conference and then Crossover Church. We began including more and more articles and resources for the culture in each issue as our influence and pages grew. Soon we received more and more requests for the magazine to go national and become the voice that Christ centered hip-hop needed. Honestly our small team didn't want that responsibility at the time as we were also doing so many other ministry related things already. During this development phase the magazine continued to grow in pages and depth.

In 2006 came the official name change to S.O.U.LMAG as we released a double cover coming in at 100 pages. We came to the place where we felt the green light to take things to the next level. As our influence increases we're excited to introduce our growing readership to new and established artists, new resources, new ministries and encouraging articles about what Christ is doing in the global urban/hip-hop community. We constantly get numerous requests for magazines from all over the world, and the cost of shipping prohibits this. With the digital revolution now at hand we have launched all of our issues in digital format for just .99 cents... the same price as a song on iTunes or an app for your smart phone. We're excited that we now can offer the magazine digitally to people across the globe.
