Community Outreach Projects
Crossover is a ministry that is very outreach oriented all around. Everything we do on our campus is outreach minded from our church services, concerts, youth and kids ministry, to our skate park, basketball courts and patio. Each week we have many people step onto our campus that don't have a relationship with Christ. We thank God for that type of influence.
Although we are unique and we attract people to our location, we still must also go out to them as the scripture tells us. We have a variety of different outreach opportunities off campus.
Hip-Hop Shop Outreach:
Crossover has a second hip-hop shop location at The International Flea Market located on the corner of Nebraska and Fowler in Tampa. This serves as a great platform to get in the marketplace in our community and mix it up with people. Crossover has a 10x10 foot booth with glass countertop CD cases, light boxes, a sound system and 2 flat screen TVS. We have a variety of CD's, DVD's, Magazines, books and Bibles available for purchase...but much greater than that it's main function is to connect with people spiritually and let them know about Crossover. Countless flyers and FREE CDs and magazines are handed out by our volunteers that staff our booth. The hip-hop shop flea market location is open Tuesdays - Sundays from around noon until 7pm. Many people have visited Crossover through this outreach and several have received prayer at the shop and some even accepted Christ. Outreach Concerts:
Every 4-8 weeks Crossover holds an outreach concert at the International Flea Market where we also have our hip-hop shop. The Flea Market has given us permission to do a concert and share our music and ministry. A variety of different hip-hop artists, dancers, and DJ's share their music and testimonies while a team of people from the church engage the crowd and pass out flyers and many times free CD's. We've seen several people visit the church and get impacted from these events. Look for information in the programs on Sundays for the next outreach concert date.
Street Team:
A group of people from Crossover regularly target certain events, malls, or movie theaters to give out flyers and promote upcoming events at Crossover. The intention is to give out information and bring awareness to Crossover as we are also lead by God's spirit in sharing our faith as many times conversations will spark up. Juvenile Detention Center:
This is a monthly outreach to the JDC facility here in Tampa where our team participates in the Friday night church service. A variety of Crossover members attend as they may share their gifts and talents or their testimonies.
